Englebert GX

He aquí una auténtica rareza en las páginas de Your Computer: Englebert   -  programado por John Kennedy en 1985-   es   un trepidante juego de acción de gran calidad,   y   variante inspirada en el popular Q*bert. El objetivo consiste en ir saltando sobre una pirámide de bloques, dejando huellas a tu paso. Cuando consigas recorrer toda la pirámide y cubrir todos sus bloques, aparecerá un nuevo diseño y el desafío continuará.

Pero no será tan sencillo. Si saltas fuera de la pirámide o eres alcanzado por una de las extrañas bolas rebotadoras que la recorren, perderás una vida. Y, a medida que avances de nivel, tendrás que enfrentarte a dos de estas peligrosas criaturas al mismo tiempo.

Para el movimiento es importante resaltar que debes pulsar a la vez en tu gamepad dos direcciones (para lograr ese singular desplazamiento en diagonal):

ARRIBA+IZQUIERDA    -    ARRIBA+DERECHA

ABAJO+IZQUIERDA  -         ABAJO+DERECHA

Para esos primeros minutos de práctica   te vendrá bien la opción de vidas infinitas que he incluido.

Al igual que  mis otros mods, está pensado espacialmente para ser jugado en la consola GX4000  con una PicoGX/C4CPC o en  un CPC/CPC+ con M4.

El juego es gratuito en formato CPR, pero  por el importe de un café  puedes valorar mi trabajo y de paso añadir motivación para seguir adaptando estos maravillosos juegos ;)

Here's a genuine rarity from the pages of Your Computer: Englebert, programmed by John Kennedy in 1985, is a fast-paced, high-quality arcade game inspired by the classic Q*bert. Your objective is to jump across a pyramid of blocks, leaving footprints behind as you go. Once you've covered every block on the pyramid, a new layout appears and the challenge continues.

But it won't be that easy. If you jump off the pyramid or are hit by one of the strange bouncing balls roaming around it, you'll lose a life. As you progress through the levels, you'll eventually have to deal with two of these dangerous creatures at the same time.

One important thing to remember is that movement is performed diagonally. To move your character, you must press two directions on your gamepad simultaneously:

UP+LEFT  -    UP+RIGHT

DOWN+LEFT  -         DOWN+RIGHT

To help you during your first few games, I've included an Infinite Lives option so you can practise the controls without worrying about running out of lives.

Like all my other adaptations, this version has been specifically designed for the GX4000 console using a PicoGX or C4CPC device, as well as for any Amstrad CPC/CPC+ fitted with an M4 board.
